Enable Minecraft Crossplay (Java + Bedrock) with GeyserMC (Lordhosting)

Introduction​

Want your PC (Java Edition) and PS5, Xbox, Switch, Mobile (Bedrock Edition) friends to play together on the same Minecraft server? This is possible thanks to GeyserMC, a plugin/proxy that allows Bedrock players to join a Java Minecraft server.

Installation steps​

1️⃣ Prerequisites​

  • A Minecraft Java Edition server (Spigot, Paper, Purpur, etc.)\
  • Access to the Lordhosting game panel or a VPS\
  • Java 17 (minimum recommended)

2️⃣ Download GeyserMC​

  • Go to the releases page: https://geysermc.org/download
  • Download the Spigot/Paper version (if you are on a classic Minecraft Java server). Minecraft Java classic).

3️⃣ Installing the plugin​

  1. Log in to your Lordhosting game panel.\
  2. Go to the File Manager tab → plugins folder.\
  3. Upload the Geyser-Spigot.jar file.\
  4. (Optional but recommended) Also install Floodgate:
    Floodgate This allows Bedrock players to connect without a Java account.

4️⃣ Create an additional port​

So that Bedrock players can join:

  1. Go to the Lordhosting panel.
  2. In your server, open the Network tab.
  3. Click Create Allocation to generate an additional port (it will be dedicated to Bedrock).
    ⚠️ By default, Java uses port 25565 (TCP), and Bedrock must use a UDP port (often 19132). 🚩 If you want a custom dedicated port, contact Lordhosting support directly.

5️⃣ Configuring GeyserMC​

After the first restart, a Geyser folder is created. Edit the config.yml file:

  port: 25565   # port of your Java server
  auth-type: floodgate  # use floodgate for Bedrock without a Java account

⚠️ Make sure that the Bedrock UDP port you created is being used.

6️⃣ Restart​

  • Restart your server from the Lordhosting panel.

  • Java players connect normally via:

    myserver.lordhosting.fr:25565

  • Bedrock players connect via:

    myserver.lordhosting.fr:19132

Crossplay verification​

  • Java PC: standard connection via the official launcher.
  • PS5/Xbox/Switch/Mobile (Bedrock):
    • Add an external server in Minecraft Bedrock.
    • Enter the IP and port 19132.
    • Connect and play together 🎉

ℹ️ Good to know​

  • Without Floodgate, Bedrock players must link a Java account.

  • Bedrock skins do not always display correctly on Java.

  • GeyserMC is not a mod: it acts as a translation proxy between the two versions.
