🌐 Adding a user to your Pterodactyl VPS

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a new user on your Pterodactyl panel.
This will allow you to give your colleagues, partners, or even your customers (as part of reseller offers) access to your panel.

1. Access the users section​

  1. Log in to the administrator interface of your Pterodactyl panel:

    • URL: https://votre_panel.fr/admin
    • Or via the Access the panel button on the home page.

  2. In the side menu, click on Users then on Create at the top right.

You will then be taken to the user creation form:

2. Explanation of fields​

1. Email​

  • Address used to log in to the panel.
  • Can be fictitious, but a real address is recommended if you use email-related features.
Important

If emails are enabled on your panel, use a real address to ensure that notifications are received correctly.

2. Username​

  • User's nickname.
  • Displayed as Owner if they own a server, and in the list of users associated with a server.

Users cannot change their username from their profile.

3. Client First Name​

  • The user's first name.
  • Visible only to the user themselves and administrators.

Users cannot change their first name from their profile.

4. Client Last Name​

  • The user's last name.
  • Visible only to the user themselves and administrators.

The user cannot change their last name from their profile.

5. Default Language​

  • Sets the language of the user interface.
  • Default: English.
  • Other languages may be available if they are installed.

The user can change the language at any time from their profile.

6. Administrator​

  • Allows you to give the user full rights: management of servers, users, nodes, etc.
Warning

Only grant this role to trusted individuals, as the user will have access to the entire panel.

7. Password​

  • Sets the user's password.
  • If left blank, the user will have to create a password when they log in for the first time.

The password can be changed by the user at any time from their personal space.
