🔐 How to Set a Password on Your Hytale Server

Securing your Hytale server with a password allows you to control who can join your community. Only players who know the password will be able to access the server.

1️⃣ Access Server Configuration​

  1. Log in to your LordHosting management panel.
  2. Select your Hytale server.
  3. Go to the File Manager tab.
  4. Open the config.json file.

2️⃣ Add the Password​

  1. Find the following line in the file:
     "Password": "",
  1. Add your password between the quotation marks "":
   "Password": "YourPassword123",
  1. Save the file.

3️⃣ Restart the Server​

For the changes to take effect:

  1. Go back to the Console tab.
  2. Click Restart to restart the server.

Once restarted, your server will be password-protected!

4️⃣ Connect to the Protected Server​

Your players will need to enter the password when connecting:

  1. Launch Hytale and go to Multiplayer.
  2. Enter your server's IP address.
  3. A window will ask for the server password.
  4. Enter the password you set.

🔄 Change or Remove the Password​

Change the password:​

Simply modify the value in the config.json file:

 "Password": "NewPassword456",

Remove the password:​

Leave the line empty:

 "Password": "",

Don't forget to restart the server after each modification!

  • ✅ Use a unique and complex password
  • ✅ Avoid simple passwords (e.g., "123456", "password")
  • ✅ Share the password only with trusted players
  • ✅ Change your password regularly for better security
