What exactly does the user.db file contain?

It is your Broke Protocol server's database: player accounts, money, inventories and progression. Deleting it resets all of that data to zero.

Do I need to stop the server before deleting user.db?

Yes, this is strongly recommended. If the server is still running, it may rewrite the file on shutdown and your data will reappear as if nothing happened.

Can a reset be undone?

How to Fully Reset Your Broke Protocol Server

Planning a wipe to launch a new season, dealing with a corrupted database, or simply want a fresh start after a testing phase? Good news: in Broke Protocol, all player data (accounts, money, inventories, progression) is stored in a single file, user.db. Fully resetting your server therefore comes down to deleting that file: on the next startup, the server automatically regenerates a brand-new one. Here is how to do it, step by step, from your Lordhosting game panel.

Prerequisites

An active Broke Protocol server at Lordhosting
Your game panel login credentials
Five minutes of your time: the process is quick

This action is irreversible

Deleting user.db permanently erases the accounts, money and progression of all your players. Download a copy of the file before deleting it if you want to be able to roll back.

Steps to Follow

Go to your game panel and log in, then select your Broke Protocol server from the list.
Stop the server with the Stop button at the top of the console. This matters: as long as the server is running, it keeps its database in memory and may write it back to disk.
Click on the File manager tab to access your server files.
Find and open the server.properties file if necessary to check your server settings. This step is optional, but handy if you want to take advantage of the wipe to review your configuration.
Navigate to the following directory:

```
The .config folder sits at the root of your server files.
Optional but recommended: download a copy of the user.db file to your computer from the File manager. That way you can restore the data if you change your mind.
Delete the following file:

Restart your server with the Start button. On launch, Broke Protocol detects that the database is missing and creates a new, completely empty one.

From their next login, your players will start from scratch: new account, starting money, no property.
