TL;DR

Palworld officially leaves early access on July 10, 2026. This 1.0 update isn't a simple patch: Pocketpair talks about 27 pages of patch notes, unprecedented in the game's history. On the menu: the World Tree finally accessible, Sky Islands that nearly double the map, over 200 Pals in the Paldeck, Genetic Recombination, full PvP and server clustering. It's free for everyone.

Palworld officially leaves early access on July 10, 2026. This 1.0 update isn't a simple patch, it's a complete overhaul of the game. Pocketpair is talking about 27 pages of patch notes, unprecedented in the game's history.

In short, here's what's landing:

  • The World Tree, finally accessible, with a real final boss and a story ending.
  • Sky Islands, floating islands that nearly double the size of the map.
  • Over 200 Pals in the Paldeck, including 27 new creatures (Bull Dou, Dualith, Dupin, Lee Fan, Oidia, Seek, Vanusa...).
  • Genetic Recombination, a breeding system that lets you merge the genes of legendary Pals.
  • The Wing Pack, to finally fly without depending on a mounted Pal.
  • Full PvP, previously limited or experimental.
  • PC/Xbox crossplay and server clustering, to play with more people without blowing up your server.
  • A fix for the infamous rubberbanding and a rework of early/late-game progression.

It's free for everyone. And a first paid DLC, Dawn of the Palpagos, arrives as soon as July 30, 2026. Let's break it all down below.

World Tree & Sky Islands: the new map that changes everything

You've surely noticed it while playing since 2024: that huge tree at the center of Palpagos, visible from the start, but totally inaccessible. That's over.

With Palworld's version 1.0, the World Tree finally opens up. It's the endgame zone par excellence: the one housing the final boss and closing the game's main story.

Around it, an entire new region appears, with its own ecosystem, brand new resources and dangers to match.

Sky Islands, for their part, add a whole new vertical dimension:

  • Floating islands above Palpagos, reachable via new means of travel.
  • A map that nearly doubles in size compared to the previous version.
  • Reworked Wildlife Sanctuaries, with unique ecosystems, surveillance drones and tough bosses tucked away in remote corners.
  • Fully reworked tower bosses: themed arenas, patterns that evolve mid-fight, no more mindless button-mashing.

A little tip, community to community: the developers recommend starting a new save to fully enjoy the change. Don't worry, your old games don't disappear — progress stays intact if you'd rather keep going with your current run.

New Pals & Genetic Recombination: breeding gets a serious upgrade

The Paldeck crosses the 200-creature mark. On this update alone, we're counting over 27 new Pals, a record for a single update.

Among the new faces showing up:

  • Bull Dou
  • Dualith
  • Dupin
  • Lee Fan
  • Oidia
  • Seek
  • Vanusa

There are also some notable legendaries in the mix, like a fire dragon and a blade-fish, built for endgame content around the World Tree.

The real revolution is Genetic Recombination. Concretely:

  • You can merge the genes of two legendary Pals to get unique variants.
  • Abilities can be inherited across generations, a real strategic breeding system.
  • It opens the door to fully personalized combat and work builds, rather than just capturing the "perfect" Pal by luck.

On the gear side, the new Wing Pack changes the game for exploration. No more need to mount a flying Pal every time: you slot the item as a weapon and glide directly, handy for reaching the Sky Islands without a detour.

PvP & combat: Palworld finally shows its teeth

PvP had been on the sidelines until now, a bit experimental, mostly meant for fun between friends. With version 1.0, Pocketpair delivers a full PvP mode, built to last.

What actually changes in combat:

  • Rebalanced damage and resistances for Pals in player-vs-player context.
  • Guest Pals now take 25% less damage, and are automatically sent back into their owner's game if the owner dies.
  • A fix for the infamous rubberbanding, that annoying network lag that used to teleport players mid-fight.
  • The button to carry a Pal changed from F to V on PC (X to Y on controller), to avoid accidental inputs during combat.
  • Destroyed enemy bases no longer respawn, which really changes the logic behind repeated raids.

Bottom line: between restored network stability and a real, structured PvP system, player-vs-player fights finally have the technical foundations to become a pillar of the game, not just a side feature.

Server Clustering & PC/Xbox Crossplay: playing with more people, without the technical hassle

This is arguably the most anticipated piece for communities that have been running active servers for months.

PC/Xbox crossplay now lets Steam, Xbox and Game Pass players meet on the same dedicated server, no workarounds needed. No more groups of friends split up because one is on console and the other on PC.

And most importantly, version 1.0 introduces Palworld server clustering: the ability to link several server instances together into a single persistent world, capable of hosting far more people at once.

Why this matters in practice:

  • A classic Palworld server quickly goes into the red past about thirty active players, because of the CPU load tied to base, Pal and PvP calculations.
  • Clustering spreads that load across multiple machines, which means more connected players without saturating a single processor.
  • For a growing community, a guild, or an RP server with several active bases, it's the difference between a world that runs smoothly and one that lags on every raid.

In practice, if you're running or considering setting up a community server, now is clearly the time to look into it closely.

What's next? The Dawn of the Palpagos DLC arrives July 30

Version 1.0 is the foundation. But Pocketpair isn't stopping there.

The first paid DLC, named Dawn of the Palpagos, is announced for July 30, 2026, barely three weeks after the 1.0 release.

We don't have the full content details yet, but we'll be following it closely as soon as official info drops. For now, focus on 1.0: there's already plenty to do with the World Tree and Sky Islands to explore from top to bottom.
