Creating a server on Pterodactyl
Complete guide to creating a server from the Pterodactyl panel.
Once your locations and nodes are configured, you can create game servers for your users.
This guide explains how to do this from the admin panel.
1. Access the servers section
- Log in to your admin panel (
https://votre_panel.fr/admin). - In the side menu, click on Servers.
- Click Create New in the top right corner.
2. General information
Server Name
- Name of the server (example:
Survival-1,Faction-PVP).
Owner
- Select the user who owns the server.
If the user does not yet exist, create them in the Users section before continuing.
3. Allocation and resources
Node
- Select the node on which the server will be hosted.
Default Allocation
- Choose the IP and port assigned to the server by default.
Additional Allocations
- (Optional) Add additional IPs/ports if the server needs to use more than one.
Resources
- Memory (RAM): amount of RAM in MB.
- Disk Space: allocated disk space in MB.
- CPU Limit: maximum percentage of CPU that can be used.
Do not exceed the resources available on your node, otherwise this may cause overloads.
4. Selecting the egg
Nest
- Game category (Minecraft, Source Engine, Discord Bot, etc.).
Egg
- Choose the egg corresponding to the server you want to deploy.
Docker Image
- The Docker image will be automatically suggested by the egg.
- You can customize it if necessary.
5. Variables and launch
- Fill in the game-specific variables (e.g., Minecraft version, Discord bot token, etc.).
- Check the startup parameters provided by the egg.
Each egg may contain customizable variables (motd, map, version, etc.). Take the time to configure them correctly.
6. Finalize creation
Click Create Server. The server will be automatically installed by Wings on the selected node.
7. Verifications
- Go to the user panel to verify that the server appears correctly.
- Launch it for the first time to test that it is working properly.
