Both ARK versions support crossplay on dedicated servers: Evolved connects PC, Xbox and PlayStation; Ascended adds the Microsoft Store version. One click in the web interface enables it.
PvP between PC and consoles has been disabled on official Ascended servers since early 2024 — on your own server, you decide. PvE crossplay runs without restriction.

ARK is an open-world survival game where you tame dinosaurs, build bases and fight bosses, solo or as a tribe. ARK: Survival Evolved is the 2017 original; ARK: Survival Ascended its Unreal Engine 5 remake released in 2023, with next-gen graphics and new mechanics.
